My Flight

With wings so fragile and light,
took in the air my first flight.
to traverse all in my sight,
I took off with all my might.

Covering meadows in green so bright,
I gained I could as much height.
Swifter than the sword of knight,
I flew around feeling so light.

another bird of my kind I am right,
to join the fleet did she invite.
the lamp of desire she did ignite,
to fly over no land far away quite.

No rethink i took but only the flight
together so far did we incite.
with no worries or even little fright,
i followed my fellow with eyes straight.

Was a wacky reason for her to recite
she asked me to leave from that sight.
She left with no trace but me no white,
i marooned in air like a thread-less kite.

I still am flying over oceans right
beneath me with scars of dream delight.
I have no land to rest slight - nor
a pair of ears to hear my plight.

With memories of my flight excite - my
wings feel heavy to carry tonight.
A blue ocean and a heart contrite - are
to cross and only then can I alight.

Wings were strong and fledged that night,
but now growing so weak due to this flight
so long, of all these woes in spite,
I keep at least my thoughts still tight.

Time during flight in me did write - now
hopes do the same to set affairs alright.
with now flown miles to look back trite - I
fly towards where smile and tears unite.
